These Terms of Service govern your use of Homestead Cleaning Solutions' website, app, and services. By booking a service, creating an account, or using the Homestead platform in any way, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
01 About Homestead Cleaning Solutions
Homestead Cleaning Solutions ("Homestead," "we," "us," or "our") is a cleaning services platform based in Detroit, Michigan. We connect clients ("you" or "Client") with background-checked, trained cleaning professionals ("Cleaners") for residential and commercial cleaning services. Homestead is responsible for the quality, scheduling, and coordination of all services booked through our platform.
02 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website, downloading our app, creating a booking, or making a payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our platform or services.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
03 Services
Homestead provides residential and commercial cleaning services as described at booking. All services are performed by Homestead Cleaners who have completed our vetting process, including identity verification, background screening, and training certification.
The scope of services is determined at the time of booking. If the condition of the property materially differs from what was described at booking (e.g., significantly more rooms, excessive mess, or undisclosed conditions), Homestead reserves the right to adjust pricing, limit scope, or reschedule the service.
04 Booking & Payments
4.1 Booking
Bookings may be made through our website or mobile app. All bookings are subject to Cleaner availability. You will receive a confirmation via email and/or SMS once your booking is confirmed.
4.2 Pricing
Service pricing is displayed at the time of booking. Prices may vary based on property size, service type, frequency, and location. Homestead reserves the right to update pricing at any time; changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.
4.3 Payment
Payment is processed at the time of booking or upon completion of service, as indicated during checkout. We accept major credit cards and other payment methods displayed on the platform. All transactions are processed securely through our payment processor.
05 Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Homestead's cancellation policy is designed to protect both clients and our Cleaners, whose income depends on confirmed appointments. By booking a service, you agree to the following:

5.1 Standard Cancellation — No Charge
If you cancel your scheduled service more than 24 hours before the appointment start time, you will not be charged. Any prepaid amount will be refunded in full to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.
5.2 Late Cancellation — 50% Charge
If you cancel your scheduled service within 24 hours of the appointment start time, you will be charged 50% of the total booked service price. This fee compensates the assigned Cleaner for the time they reserved and cannot fill on short notice.
5.3 No-Show / Lockout — Full Charge
A "No-Show" or "Lockout" occurs when a Homestead Cleaner arrives at the scheduled location at the scheduled time and is unable to access the property for any reason, including but not limited to: no one home to grant access, incorrect address provided, property locked without key arrangements, or Client failure to respond to Cleaner contact attempts.
In the event of a No-Show or Lockout, the full price of the booked service will be charged. No refund will be issued. This policy exists because your Cleaner has traveled to your location and set aside their full scheduled window for your service.
5.4 Rescheduling
You may reschedule a service at no charge provided you do so more than 24 hours before the appointment. Rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of the appointment are subject to Cleaner availability and may be treated as a late cancellation if the original appointment cannot be fulfilled.
5.5 Homestead-Initiated Cancellations
In rare cases, Homestead may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment due to Cleaner unavailability, emergency, or other circumstances beyond our control. In these cases, you will receive prompt notification and the choice of a full refund or rescheduled service at no additional charge.
06 Photo Authorization & Media Use

This section explains how Homestead may use photos taken in connection with your service. Please read it carefully.
As part of our service quality and verification process, Homestead Cleaners take before-and-after photographs of your property at the start and completion of every job. These photos are taken to document the condition of your property, protect both the Client and Cleaner from disputes, and provide quality assurance.
By booking a service with Homestead and agreeing to these Terms of Service, you grant Homestead Cleaning Solutions a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute photographs taken of your property in connection with your service for the following purposes:
Internal training and quality control programs for Homestead Cleaners
Staff onboarding materials and cleaning procedure demonstrations
Marketing and promotional materials, including our website, social media, advertisements, and printed materials
Before-and-after showcases demonstrating the quality of Homestead services
General business communications and presentations
Homestead will not include any personally identifiable information (such as your name, address, or account details) in any publicly shared photos. Photos used for marketing will not identify your specific property or location without your separate, explicit written consent.
If you do not wish for photos of your property to be used for marketing or training purposes beyond internal quality control, you may opt out by notifying us in writing at [email protected] prior to your scheduled service. Opting out does not affect our right to take photos for service documentation and quality assurance purposes, which remain a non-negotiable part of our service process.
07 Property Access & Client Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring that the Cleaner has safe and unobstructed access to your property at the scheduled time. This includes providing accurate access instructions, disabling security systems as needed, and securing or removing fragile, irreplaceable, or hazardous items prior to the service.
Homestead Cleaners are instructed not to move personal documents, electronics, or valuables. Please store any sensitive items before your appointment. Homestead is not liable for damage to items left unsecured in areas being cleaned unless caused by gross negligence.
08 Damage & Claims
Homestead carries general liability coverage for property damage caused by our Cleaners during the course of service. All damage claims must be submitted through the Homestead app or by contacting us at [email protected] within 24 hours of the completed service. Claims submitted after this window may not be eligible for reimbursement.
Homestead is not responsible for damage to pre-existing conditions, improperly installed fixtures, items of extraordinary value not disclosed at booking, or damage caused by the Client's failure to follow access or preparation instructions.
09 Prohibition on Direct Solicitation
Clients who discover or connect with a Cleaner through the Homestead platform agree not to solicit, hire, or engage that Cleaner for cleaning services outside of the Homestead platform for a period of 12 months following their last Homestead booking. This protection exists to ensure our Cleaners' livelihoods and the integrity of our platform. Violations may result in account suspension and a referral fee equivalent to six months of estimated service value.
10 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Homestead's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Homestead is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind.
11 Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Wayne County, Michigan.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account, make a booking, or contact us, we collect:

2.3 Photos and Service Documentation
As described in our Terms of Service, Homestead Cleaners take before-and-after photographs of your property as part of our standard service process. These photos are stored securely on our platform and associated with your account and booking record. Your rights regarding the use of these photos are described in the section below and in our Terms of Service.
2.4 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third parties, including:
Payment processors, for transaction verification and fraud prevention
Identity verification or background check services, if applicable
Analytics providers that help us understand how our platform is used
03 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
3.1 Providing and Improving Our Services
Processing and fulfilling your bookings
Communicating with you about your appointments, including confirmations, reminders, and updates
Matching you with available Cleaners based on location and availability
Processing payments and issuing refunds
Resolving disputes, damage claims, and customer service inquiries

3.2 Safety and Quality Assurance
Using before-and-after photos for internal quality review and Cleaner accountability
Using photos and anonymized service data to develop and update Cleaner training materials
Verifying Cleaner performance and maintaining safety standards
3.3 Marketing and Communications
Sending you promotional offers, service updates, and newsletters (you may opt out at any time)
Using property photos for marketing purposes as described in our Terms of Service and subject to your opt-out rights
Displaying testimonials or before-and-after results on our website or social media (without identifying your property or personal information unless you separately consent)
Running targeted advertising through third-party platforms based on anonymized usage data

04 Your Rights Regarding Photos
You have the following rights with respect to photos taken of your property:
Right to exclude marketing use.You may opt out of having your property photos used for marketing or promotional purposes by emailing [email protected] before your scheduled service. This does not affect our right to use photos for internal service documentation and quality control.
Right to access.You may request a copy of the photos associated with your bookings at any time through your account or by contacting us.
Right to deletion.You may request deletion of photos associated with your account, subject to our retention obligations for dispute resolution and legal compliance. Requests can be made at [email protected].
05 How We Share Your Information
Homestead does not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
5.1 With Your Assigned Cleaner
We share your first name, service address, booking details, and access instructions with your assigned Cleaner solely for the purpose of completing your service.
5.2 With Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party providers to operate our platform, including payment processors, background check services, SMS and email communication providers, cloud storage providers, and analytics services. These providers are contractually required to use your information only as directed by Homestead and to maintain appropriate security standards.
5.3 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Homestead, our users, or the public.
5.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you of any such change and your options regarding your data.
06 Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a period after closure sufficient to fulfill our legal, dispute resolution, and business obligations. Specifically:

Right to delete — request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
