Everything you'd want to know — what it covers, when to book one, and how it's different from a standard clean.
A standard clean handles the visible, ongoing maintenance of your home — counters, floors, bathrooms, dusting, trash. A deep clean does all of that, plus tackles the buildup and detail that accumulate between visits. Baseboards collect dust slowly enough that standard cleans don't get to them every time. Blinds gather grime you only notice when sunlight hits them. Ceiling fans spin dust back into the air the moment you turn them on. Shower doors develop hard water stains over months, not days. A deep clean resets all of it in a single visit — usually 4 to 8 hours depending on home size, which is why it's priced above a standard clean.
Most first-time clients start with a deep clean. It's not required, but it's strongly recommended — starting with a thorough reset gives every recurring clean after a better baseline to work from. Seasonal resets are another common trigger: spring cleaning, pre-holiday prep, back-to-school. If your home hasn't had a professional clean in 45 days or more, a deep clean is almost always the right call. They also work well after life transitions — post-renovation, or before you move in and after tenants move out — when there's buildup a standard clean can't fully catch up with.
Deep cleaning and move-out cleaning share a lot, but they're built for different situations. A deep clean focuses on the detail work across a lived-in home — baseboards, blinds, ceiling fans, and the buildup a regular clean skips. A move-out clean goes further: inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, inside kitchen cabinets, and anywhere a new tenant will inspect. Short version: if your home is occupied and needs a thorough reset, you want a deep clean. If you're moving out and the property needs to pass inspection, you want a move-out clean. Both are one-time services priced above standard recurring cleans.
